Here at HockeyClan, we are thankful for one thing — Hockey!

From coast-to-coast, over 900 players from 60 teams hit the ice in both California and North Carolina for a OneHockey Thanksgiving weekend, and when the ice chips settled 13 teams skated off as champions.

Thirty-one teams from The Golden State were in action along with squads from Alaska, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia as well as teams from the Canadian province of Ontario playing in over 100 games, simultaneously, coast-to-coast at The Polar Ice House in Wake Forest, N.C. and The Ice Den in Carlsbad and Riverside, CA.

“We killed it — every team who attended added OneHockey to their number one most fun favorite tournament to attend,” OneHockey CEO Sebastien Fortier said. “Wake Forest Polar Ice is fun to host tournaments and music was pumping all weekend. We are making a HUGE statement in this area and all tournaments will sell out for years to come!

Tournament Director Shaun Lund echoed Fortier’s sentiments out on the West Coast.

“The Thanksgiving California event was awesome — we had a team from Oakville, Ontario, the Rangers, KPHA from Alaska and the Grizzlies from Utah,” Lund said. “With the addition of our new beanies, or “toques as Canadians call them, all the kids were running around with them — they were a hit.

“Championship games were all very exciting,” Lund said. “Our chipmunk mascot was entertaining and the interviews were rocking. California was once again a huge success.”
