HARRISBURG, PA — Over 500 players from 36 teams spanning seven U.S. states and Canadian provinces converged in Eastern Pennsylvania this past weekend, battling it out over three days to declare nine OneHockey tournament champions.

All told, teams from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia hit the ice Nov. 2-4 with squads from Ontario at Twin Ponds East in Harrisburg and Twin Ponds West in Mechanicsburg to crown champions in Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam, U-16 and U-18 divisions.

OneHockey, among the leaders in organized youth hockey tournaments, nationwide, has enjoyed sweet success in Pennsylvania before and were happy to be back in the Keystone State.

“Hershey was awesome,” Shaun Lund, OneHockey Tournament Director, said. “Twin Ponds East has a very down-home feeling. The third rink at Ponds West was great also. The interviews were going, photos, t-shirts were all very busy. With nine divisions — yes, nine divisions — it was a busy weekend. We had a busy Sunday with all the finals and we delivered amazing ceremonies to all.

“I expect Hershey to continue to grow for years to come,” Lund said.

While champions were being crowned in Pennsylvania, OneHockey was simultaneously hosting an event in Rochester, Minnesota. as well.

“With four Minnesota associations represented it was a success. So many happy faces,” OneHockey CEO Sebastien Fortier said. “Although it was a smaller event we made an incredible impressions. Comments such as, “You guys really know what your doing,” or,  “Wow, that was what I call a tournament,” or “Well, back to boring tournaments now that OneHockey is over,” were great.

“Thank you to the Rochester sports commission and arena management and staff,” Fortier added.
