Over one thousand players spanning 57 teams from eight states converged in Illinois for the Central State Tournament this past weekend producing four new champions in yet another highly successful national ice hockey event from OneHockey.

With games at the Leafs Ice Center in West Dundee, Fox Valley Arena in Geneva and Barrington Ice Arena in Lake Barrington, hockey players from Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Texas competed in U-14, U-15, U-16 and U-18 classifications to vie for titles. The Falcons Hockey Association, hailing from nearby Highland Park, IL, emerged victorious in not one, but two tournaments as it captured U-15 and U-16 titles with a pair of one-goal victories in the finals.

Already a world-wide phenomenon, OneHockey will attempt to set a new Guiness World Record for the largest tournament ever at its 2018 Holiday Invite this season. The unprecedented, four-day Christmas vacation event which will feature as many as 1,000 teams in both boys and girls divisions estimated to number more than 23,000 players from 10 countries squaring off on more than 75 sheets of ice is one of the most highly-anticipated events of the upcoming hockey season and this past weekend’s Central State Tournament was yet another great hockey event along the way.

“For a tournament in the great state of Illinois we are pleased with the turnout this past weekend,” OneHockey CEO Sebastien Fortier said. “We can’t wait to return this Thanksgiving. Thank you to everyone for making this event one of our best tournaments ever.”
