The 60th high school hockey season in New Jersey opened this weekend and HockeyClan was there to capture the action.

Beginning with Roxbury-Mendham and concluding with Wall-Brick Memorial, a total of 32 games were played in the Garden State this weekend.

Saturday, November 25

Roxbury 9, Mendham 3: Nick Hefferle broke the ice just 39 seconds into the 2017-18 high school hockey season in New Jersey and his brother, Billy, followed up with a hat trick and five points as Roxbury skated past Mendham, 9-3, on Opening Day at Aspen Ice in Randolph. — FULL STORY with VIDEO and PLAYER INTERVIEWS

Sunday, November 26

Wall Township 9, Brick Memorial 0: Ryan Burns led the way with three goals, Riley Haviland added two goals and an assist and Zach Tarantino and Sean Kiewe each tallied three assists for Wall Township at Howell Ice World. A balanced attack from Wall was on display as six different players found the back of the net. 13 players had at least one point in the first game this season for last season’s Public B State Finalist.
