Welcome to the next installment in a series of weekly videos from Hockey Coach Vision!

Each Wednesday for the next several weeks, the staff at Hockey Coach Vision, including Larry Huras, Filip Kostovic and Franjo Zajec, will release a new training video to help you as a coach pass on hockey-specific tips, training and skills to the next generation of ice hockey players.

In our ninth installment, Hockey Coach Vision continues with “Kalpa 2@1 Narrow.

“This drill works quick neutral zone counters in a tight area in a two-against-one situation.” — Larry Huras

Description:
-D1 steps up, pivots and retrieves dump pass from F2. F2 and F3 make quick turns, receive a pass from D1, then pass it to D7.
-D7 makes a quick pivot then passes it back to the forwards who now go in 2@1 on D1

Key Points:
-Forwards should always pivot in a way to keep eye contact with the puck
-D men should make tight smooth pivots before making their passes
