Welcome to the next installment in a series of weekly videos from Hockey Coach Vision!

Each Wednesday for the next several weeks, the staff at Hockey Coach Vision, including Larry Huras, Filip Kostovic and Franjo Zajec, will release a new training video to help you as a coach pass on hockey-specific tips, training and skills to the next generation of ice hockey players.

In our seventh installment, Hockey Coach Vision continues with “GM Blue Collar 2@2.

“This is a competitive drill for Pee Wees to Pros that works on puck protection, gap control and low two against two play.” — Larry Huras

Description:
– On the whistle, P1 and P4 race for the puck spotted at the far blue line. Winner gets shot. Both stop at the net then move out quickly to gap up on P10 and P7.

– Next whistle coach passes to P10 to start 2@2 battle along with P7. On next whistle, P10 and P7 sprint to far blue to start next series

Key Points:
– Sprint starts and puck protection
– Low man on man battles
