Welcome to the next installment in a series of videos from Hockey Coach Vision!
Every few weeks throughout the season, the staff at Hockey Coach Vision, including Larry Huras, Filip Kostovic and Franjo Zajec, will release a new training video to help you as a coach pass on hockey-specific tips, training and skills to the next generation of ice hockey players.
In our 29th installment, Hockey Coach Vision continues with “D Rotating Box.”
“An excellent drill for your D for smoother hands and feet.” — Larry Huras
-Set up four D men in the Neutral zone in a box formation. Younger players form a tighter box.
-Players move the puck around the outside with smooth pivots and quick passing. Move the puck clockwise then on the whistle move the puck counter clockwise
-Keep your feet moving and move the puck quickly with a minimum of stickhandling or no stickhandling, if possible.
-Move your feet towards the direction you are passing the puck
We are proud to present to you our newest editions to your team, the Goalie and the Coach. They can be added into every drill as new players, or by replacing any existing player you already have. #hockeycoach #hockeyapp #drills #hockeylovers #coaching pic.twitter.com/45IU3RXC24
