The New Jersey Renegades, a proud member of the Eastern Hockey League, will host an Open House this Saturday, April 7 at Flemington Ice Arena before 2018-19 tryouts begin April 12-15.

The Renegades’ Open House is FREE for all junior hockey team players born 1998-2003 and junior development program players born 2000-2003 and will feature meet-and-greet with coaches and staff, returning players and alumni, special guest speakers and a tour of the facility.

“We have placed NCAA Division-I and Division-III players as well as top level ACHA programs,” Renegades’ General Manager and Assistant Coach Cliff Graziano said. “We have had USHL, NAHL draft picks, players in those leagues as well as top notch New England prep schools. We have coached players on the Olympic Team as well as players currently in the NHL, AHL and other professional leagues.

“The free open house is a great way to check out our program, skate in the skills session as well as the games that day with seminars and guest speakers that support our program from parents to alumni, current players and coaches and other guests. We hope to see you all on April 7th!”

To see the program up close, this year’s event will be split into two groups and will include free skills sessions, food and drink and tournament games.

Junior Team (Tier III, Eastern Hockey League)

Players will receive three practices a week until early Nov. then drop to two days a week with an occasional third practice depending on the schedule. The players will have all team-issued gear for the season so they will not have to purchase hundreds of dollars of all new jerseys, shells, socks, etc.

Weekly video analysis sessions as well as chalk-talk instruction and intense off-ice workouts are a cornerstone of our program, along with individual and team skill development on-ice instruction.

All hotel and transportation will be provided and factored into tuition cost.

Junior Development Program (JDP)

The JDP is a full season team and will practice with the Junior team two-to-three days a week from August until early November and will play select tournaments and games vs EHL youth programs at the AA/AAA level.

Players will receive weekly video and chalk-talk instruction, along with intense off-ice training. Whether players want to prepare for high school, the junior team, college or just want a more intense program with a high quality coaching staff, the JDP provides the best overall instruction to get to the next level.

The schedule will be front loaded, then once high school season begins they will get a short break to settle in with their high school teams before rejoining the Renegades’ JDP team and play a limited schedule of approximately one game a weekend on average over the next 20 weeks until mid-March. Once the team is chosen, we will offer a spring/summer practice and game/tournament option as well.

All aspects of this team will be discussed at the Open House on Sat. April 7th.
